We have provided an online directory of patient-modesty-friendly
doctors who have honored patients’ wishes in various ways,
including:
1.) Same-sex medical team: For
example, no female nurses assisting with men’s intimate
urological procedures.
2.) No sedation or use of local or regional anesthesia:
This allows patients to remain awake during procedures.
Awake patients are better able to speak up for themselves and
advocate for their modesty preferences.
3.) Allowing a spouse or personal advocate
not employed by the medical facility to be present during surgery.
Please keep the following in mind: We
cannot guarantee that the information in this directory is current,
as staffing, policies, and practices can change without our
knowledge. Many doctors, particularly urologists, may have female
nurses assisting with intimate procedures. Before scheduling,
clearly explain to your doctor and office manager that you will
not accept opposite-sex nurses or assistants for your procedure.
Always put your wishes in writing as well.
If you find outdated information or would like
us to add a doctor who has honored your wishes for modesty but
is not yet listed in our directory,
or fill out the form to submit
a doctor for inclusion.
